Understanding Lens Implant Surgery

Lens implant surgery is a remarkable procedure that replaces the clouded cataract lens with a clear, artificial intraocular lens (IOL). It offers cataract patients an opportunity to regain clear vision, improve focus, and reduce or eliminate the need for glasses. The surgery is minimally invasive, with a rapid recovery period, and most patients experience significant vision improvement after the procedure.

Types of IOLs for Enhanced Vision

Cataract patients have access to various IOL options, each designed to cater to unique visual needs

These provide clear vision at one distance, typically for either near or distant vision. Most patients choose monofocal IOLs for distance vision and rely on reading glasses for up-close tasks.

Offering a range of focal points, multifocal IOLs enable patients to see clearly at various distances, reducing dependence on glasses for both near and far tasks.

Designed to correct astigmatism, toric IOLs provide enhanced visual clarity and reduce the need for astigmatism-correcting glasses or contact lenses.
